“We’ve
missed the incredible energy of our fans at shows, and from what we’ve heard
from them, they’ve missed being with us. With our enhanced safety measures and
outdoor venue, we look forward to welcoming our fans back to become part of the
action in-person. Please be assured, we are mindful and respectful of the
situation. The health and safety of our AEW family and our fans remains our
highest priority. Our leadership team and medical staff have adjusted our
operations for limited, physically distanced fans in an outdoor, open-air
setting in compliance with the most current state and local regulations and CDC
guidelines. We can’t wait for the August 27 DYNAMITE, as the road to ALL OUT
will represent the beginning of a new chapter in AEW history.“ -Tony Khan, AEW
President and CEO
As
for why AEW Dynamite is airing on Thursday instead of its usual Wednesday Night
War time slot, well that’s in part due to the NBA playoff schedule. The change
in schedule started with this past Saturday night’s special airing of AEW
Dynamite which saw some great matches from start to finish.
- #FTR:
Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood w/Tully Blanchard vs Private Party: Marq Queen
& Isiah Kassidy

After
a missed plancha by Kassidy onto Dax with help from Tully, #FTR was able to
secure a victory via pinfall after hitting Marq Queen with the Goodnight
Express.
- Lucha
Brothers: Penta El Zero & Rey Fenix and The Butcher & The Blade vs
Jurassic Express: Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy w/Marko Stunt and The Natural
Nightmares: Dustin Rhodes & QT Marshall
While
the Lucha Brothers and The Butcher & The Blade had control of the match a
miscommunication between the teams lead to a roll up victory by Jungle Boy on
Blade. After the match we saw Eddie Kingston come down to the ring and talk to
the 2 losing teams promising them the world.
- The
Elite: Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks Matt & Nick Jackson vs The Dark
Order: Alex “3” Reynolds, John “4” Silver, & Alan “5” Angels

After
a missed Meltzer Driver by the Young Bucks, they were hit with pile drivers by
The Dark Order members. Omega with the save on the pinfall attempt, allowing
the bucks to hit the Indy Taker and then followed up by Kenny Omega’s One
Winged Angel on Angels for the pinfall victory!
- Darby
Allin vs Will Hobbs
A
hard hitting match but Darby Allin picked up the victory after hitting the
Coffin Drop on Hobbs.
After
the match Taz had a surprise for Allin in the form of Ricky Starks mimicking Allin
from head to toe and ridiculing him on the mic. Which allowed for The Machine
Brian Cage to sneak up from behind and begin a 2-on-1 assault on Darby Allin.
- Women’s
Tag Team Cup Tournament Finals: Nightmare
Sisters: Brandi Rhodes & Allie w/Dustin Rhodes & QT Marshall vs
Ivelisse & Diamante
With
a failed distraction from QT Marshall, Ivelisse was able to backdrop Brandi was
backdropped out of the ring and onto QT Marshall. Thus allowing Ivelisse to
pick up the pinfall victory with a snapmare roll up/kick combo on Allie.
After
receiving their medals and a bouquet of flowers, Diamante & Ivelisse
trashed the flowers and proudly waved the flags of their heritage Cuba &
Puerto Rico.
- TNT
Championship: “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes(Champion) w/Arn Anderson vs “The
Exalted One” Mr. Brodie Lee of The Dark Order

Cody
tries to go straight at Mr Brodie Lee with a flurry of attacks but Brodie just
over powers Cody. After a German release suplex and 2 power bombs, Mr Brodie
Lee finished off Cody with a hard hitting discus lariat for the pinfall victory.
Winner and new TNT Champion Mr. Brodie Lee of The Dark Order!
In
Dark Order fashion they celebrated by beating the already presumed injured and
downed Cody Rhodes and the entire Nightmare family before going off air.
