MFKZ is the collaboration of French comic artist Guillaume “Run” Renard and
Japanese animation house Studio 4°C; the studio behind such works as Tekkonkinkreet and Batman: Gotham Knight, and games/comic publisher Ankama. The dream team of Shojiro Nishimi and art director Shinji Kimura reunite to bring to life a dark but stunningly animated sci-fi vision.

The film centers on young Angelino (voiced by: Kenn Michael) and his skull-and-flame pal Vinz (voiced by Vince Staples), who live in a seedy tenement in an LA-inspired dystopian metropolis; a burnt-out, gang and cockroach-ridden neo-urban hell. Following a scooter accident, as seen in the trailer, Angelino starts experiencing migraines, strange hallucinations, and fits of rage-inspired superpowers! As he slowly awakens to the truth of his origins: he is half human and half Macho, a supernatural alien race that is bent on taking over the planet. Cast also includes: Willy (Dino Andrade), El Tigre (Jorge Gutierrez), Luna (Dascha Polanco), Shakespeare (RZA), Agent Crocodile (Michael Chiklis), Mr. K (Giancarlo Espositio), & Bruce (Danny Trejo).

GKids announced that it had acquired the North American distribution rights for Mutafukaz, the animated film, the company will release the film theatrically with an English dub for 2 nights only on October 11th & 16th with the title MFKZ. GKids describes the film as a mixture of anime, film noir, lucha libre, and gang cultures in an orgy of video game mayhem with an Los Angeles-inspired dystopian Metropolis.French video game and comics publisher Ankama and Japan's Studio 4°C co-produced the project. Renard himself directed the film with animation director Shoujirou Nishimi, and Shinji Kimura served as art director.
