WATCHING THE 2016 GAME AWARDS - Buy Games & Codes for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U and PC / Mac.

2016 easily has become the year we no longer need to watch TV. For most of us that has already been a realization, but for the majority it has been the dawning of a new era. With many live events such as the NFL and the Academy awards, and most recently the Presidential debates striking deals with social media sites like Twitter, Youtube, and Facebook we are no longer in the shadow of "Must See TV". Instead we can watch said TV through our mobile devices, computers/laptops, and set top boxes such as Roku.

On Thursday December 1st, 2016 at 8:30pm Eastern Time, the 2016 Game Awards will be broadcasting live through the "major" social media networks:

The Game Awards, created by Geoff Keighley, is an annual awards ceremony to honor outstanding artistic, technical, and gameplay achievements in the video game industry. It honors games and developers on consoles, mobile and PC, as well as ever growing eSports, The Game Awards is the first of a new breed of award shows, built from the ground up exclusively for global digital and streaming platforms.

It will be interesting to watch just how the production value of this will be compared to what we are used to seeing on regular TV networks. Having it exclusively on streaming platforms will allow for more viewers from other countries to watch along with us in the United States. Which makes it a huge opportunity for advertisers and sponsors in other countries to reach a much more wider audience. While that may be the case, advertisers are still struggling with the idea that TV isn't the only source of revenue stream. Same with measuring ratings for these events that stream online. Steam, Xbox Live,The PlayStation Network, IGN and will also be carrying the stream as well, just check out their homepages for more info.
